Casa Azul - Xpuha Tulum

The place is centrally located within the Medina. Walking distance to some nice restaurants, souk shopping and heritage sites. The house is heavily decorated and is ok in the day time. But at night, when the sun has set, it’s overwhelming possibly because the lighting is dim. The lighting in the rooms and bathrooms was very limited. Which was kinda creepy to be honest. The house was adorned with much enthusiasm and effort & that is evident. The house staff is excellent. Very kind and gentle. The manager however was unclear on two occasions: 1. He told me I had to pay some local taxes which I wasn’t too happy to hear since I had paid my bill through Airbnb. He later told me that he was confused because he thought I’d booked elsewhere, 2. He told me I had to check out at 10 and then later he said 11 because he had guests coming in. I was a bit unhappy about that because as per the description my checkout was at 12:00. I stayed till 12 pm despite what he said. Unique place to stay.
